Humans account for the largest portion of the “intelligent” species. Their curiosity and propensity to build their technologies on those they find—not to mention their absorption of others' ideas—resulted in their almost virulent spread.

Humans in Gaeana have appearances as varied as those on Earth. However, the two primary races are Asean and Cur. Both average 150 – 180 cm (4'11” – 5'10”) in height. Weight is variable by individual, but typically falls between 45 – 72 kg (100 – 160 lbs.). Aseans are generally of light or medium complexion. Their hair colors range from black to blond. Each region of their homelands, Asea, has its own common combinations. Cur generally have an olive complexion. The more rural-dwelling Cur can be quite dark. Their hair color is generally black or brown and eye color is typically brown. A few families are known to have green eyes.

Toka are primates which are closely related to humans. They are much shorter than the average Human. Their average full-grown height varies little between individuals and is approximately 120 cm (3’ 11”) for males and 110 cm (3’ 7”) for females. Weight for males is generally around 32 kg (70 lbs.) and females are generally 27 kg (60 lbs.).
Toka skin colors include all shades of brown with some having green tones to a mild degree. They have little hair on their bodies. In fact, they often appear to have no hair at all on casual glance. Their hair is generally the same tone as their skin and blends in.

Their eyes are slightly larger than those of humans and have iris colors including all human shades with the most common being emerald green.

The reptilian Sil are similar to Humans in general size, though on average they are smaller. Silia average 120 – 140 cm (3’ 11” – 4’ 7”) in height, not including tail. A Sil's tail length is approximately two-thirds to three-quarters the height of the individual. They average 60 – 70 kg (130 – 154 lbs.) in weight.

Silia have dark green mottled brown skin. This provides excellent camouflage along the forest floor. Their eye color is generally yellow.

Ruthless, cunning, honorable, dangerous and loyal are all words applicable to silia. Their diet is almost entirely meat, making the breeding and slaughtering areas of their communities a sight unpalatable to most other peoples. They are prone to violence and murder. They even have ritualized killing and hunting of their own kind. However, even amongst a species which seems evil, there is strong culture and "humanity".

As parrots, the Psatti are much smaller than most other sapient species in Gaeana. They average 60 – 80 cm (24” – 31”) in length, including tail. Their tail generally accounts for 8 – 12 cm (3” – 5”) of their total size. They average 1.4 – 1.7 kg (1 – 2 lbs.) in weight.

Psatti feather color is usually gray or a drab blue, green or red. The most common is gray. Eye color is generally yellow.

The psatti are talkative and thoughtful. They do not build cities. They do live in communities. Their days are spent largely discussing ideas and concepts that many others would find obscure or unimportant.

They are peaceful and sociable. The psatti, though not found in large numbers outside their native region of Ela Gris, are unanimously respected and admired. They were the cause of the Ahl language (the pidgin used by merchants and travelers throughout Gaeana). They also created the unified system of monetary equivalents, measured in Talons and Claws. Psatti are curious, sometimes to a fault, and it is this curiosity which takes them from their island homes. They are also atheists.
